Exit Exams: Final Pass Rates
Final pass rates, also referred to as cumulative pass rates, refer to the percentage of students who pass the exit exam after the maximum number of retake opportunities are afforded.
Why does it matter? Students benefit when they are given access to the curriculum necessary to succeed and when schools are held accountable for student performance. Additionally, states, schools and districts benefit when data shows whether they have successfully provided a strong program of instruction.
Highlights:
Pass rates range from 78% (North Carolina) to 95% (Louisiana). Methodology: This information was collected from state statutes, rules and regulations, and state education agency Web sites, and will be updated as new policies and programs are enacted. Sources for all data points are accessible through this link. Last updated: June 26, 2007 Research conducted by Michael Colasanti.
