These requirements are for the optional technical diploma pathways in Alabama.

Alabama : High School Graduation Requirements
Technical/Vocational Diploma or Endorsement
State has technical diploma or endorsement Yes, 2 options: the Alabama High School Diploma with Advanced Career/Technical Endorsement and the Alabama High School Diploma with Career/Technical Endorsement.
 
English units (TD)
Notes/Citation: New Citation
Same as std. 
Social studies units (TD) Same as std. 
Science units (TD) Same as std. One of two additional units may be embedded.  
P.E./Health units (TD) Same as std. 
Arts units (TD) Same as std. 
Foreign language units (TD) Same as std.
Notes/Citation: "Students may earn the advanced career/technical and the advanced academic endorsement concurrently if the elective credits ... are used to earn the required credits in foreign language." 
Electives units (TD) 2 (5.5 reqd. for std.)
Notes/Citation: "Students may earn the advanced career/technical and the advanced academic endorsement concurrently if the elective credits ... are used to earn the required credits in foreign language." 
Other units (TD) 1 unit computer applications
Notes/Citation: "May be waived if competencies outlines in the computer applications course are demonstrated to qualified staff in the local school system. The designated one credit shall then be added to the elective credits, making a total of three elective credits." Also, student must complete sequence of 3 career/technical education courses in a career major.  
Math units (TD) TD: Same as std.
Adv.TD: Same as std. + Algebra II with Trigonometry
Notes/Citation: For both diplomas, fourth unit of math may be embedded.
