These requirements are for the optional honors/college prep diploma pathways in Arkansas.

Notes/Citation: State offers College Preparatory Core Curriculum 
English units (H/CP) Std. + "emphasis on writing skills"
Notes/Citation: May not include courses in oral communication 
Math units (H/CP) 3 (same as std.) but 3rd unit must be Algebra II 
Social studies units (H/CP) Same as std. 
Science units (H/CP) 2 (std.=3) + must be lab courses chosen from biology, chemistry and physics 
P.E./Health units (H/CP) Same as std. 
Arts units (H/CP) Same as std. 
Foreign Language units (H/CP) 2 (std.=0) 
Electives units (H/CP) Same as std. 
Other units (H/CP) Same as std. 
TOTAL # units (H/CP) Same as std. 
Technical notes and citations (H/CP) Students must complete this curriculum or the technical preparation program "to qualify for valedictorian, salutatorian, or honor graduate of public high school or to qualify for membership in the National Honor Society or its equivalent." The current requirements are not fully aligned with state college admissions course requirements. The standard graduation requirements eff. with the Class of 2010 are aligned with the state college entrance requirements.
